The history of Banca CRV

In 1874 a group of businessmen from Vignola, supported and encouraged by the local authority, founded the Vignola Savings Bank, Cassa di Risparmio di Vignola (CRV).

1927.
The Cassa di Risparmio di Vignola took over another local bank from the neighbouring district, the Cassa di Risparmio di Spilamberto.
After world War II the bank began to expand in the foothills and upland areas of the Apennines, still within the province of Modena.

1990.
An issue of shares left Banca CRT (Cassa di Risparmio di Torino) with a 35.5% stake.

1991.
Under the new Banking Act the bank was converted into a public joint-stock company [SpA]. This produced Banca CRV and also the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Vignola, which owned 75% of the shares.

1992.
Banca CRT sold its equity stake to Rolo Banca 1473 SpA

1995.
The Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio Vignola sold its controlling interest to the Banca Popolare dell’Emilia Romagna.

1998.
Rolo Banca 1473 sold its holding to Banca Popolare dell’Emilia Romagna.
