This bank was founded in 1885 by a group of the city’s professional people led by Count Pietro Gamba.

In 1920 it opened its first branches in Cervia and San Pietro in Vincoli.

In 1994, now a joint stock company (SpA) it came under the control of the Banca Popolare dell’Emilia Romagna and joined the BPER Group.
