Founded in 1885 by several professionals in the Ravenna area, headed by the Count Pietro Gamba.
The first branches were opened in Cervia and San Pietro di Vincoli in 1920.
In 1994, after changing its company legal form to joint stock company (S.P.A.), the bank transferred its majority shareholding to Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna and joined the BPER Group.
